Polyester Fibre Benefits information
Polyester fibre is made from 100% polyester and is used extensively in mattresses.
The fibres are made from 70% recycled materials and are 100% recyclable, themselves being manufactured from PET polyester which means they meet human-ecological requirements.
During construction each individual filament is crimped to give it its spring like resiliency.
The finished fibre is non-allergenic, optically bright, washable, fully breathable and inherently flame retardant.
Unlike foam, fibre is impervious to moisture, which means it will not retain liquid and its open poracity helps to maintain a constant temperature, ideal for babies and children.
The Polyester Spring Core
The polyester spring core has an improved airflow when compared against foam of a comparable weight. This is due to the cellular nature of the foam, restricting airflow.
The polyester fibre matrix is much more open, allowing air to flow easily through the thickness of the pad, therefore not retaining heat.
As the mattress is used, the action of the springs will aid ventilation by drawing air into, and out of, the spring core unit without the disadvantage of traditional spring units where a layer of foam is required to ensure that the springs are not felt.
Polyester Fibre is fast becoming regarded as an excellent replacement for urethane foam and springs in Mattresses.
Cover
The outer cover can be wiped clean and is removable for machine or hand washing should this be required.

This cot mattress protector is in a fitted sheet style with elasticated side skirts to hold it in place. It is designed to fit a standard size cot 60cm x 120cm. A cot mattress protector should be used on every baby's cot. It protects the mattress from becoming damp which can lead to marks, stains and the growth of mould and bacteria, without one it is difficult to be sure that the mattress is kept clean. This cot mattress protector also provides a dust mite proof barrier between the mattress and the baby as a mattress can very quickly become home to thousands of dust mites which are present in all of our homes regardless of cleanliness. The protector can be machine washed at temperatures up to 90c and tumble dried if required. The waterproof backing is made from polyurethane which as well as being waterproof and dust mite proof is breathable and soft.
